DAY 1
Today I went to a UT classroom，I think most UT classroom seating designs are very small.But the seats in this room are so far away from the table, and they’re so fixed, that I have to sit like this.Such a seat design can easily make people’s waist muscles fatigue, so that students can not concentrate, or even directly out of the classroom.
Day 2
In downtown Toronto I find the stair design really attract me. First, the lamplight below stair also provided enough light in the night at the same time in beautiful, so no one gonna fall becuause they can‘t see clear in night.The overall design is very atmospheric, luxurious，It combines the plane stairs with the climbing stairs together，Improves aesthetics and also meets the needs of people with disabilities.
DAY 3
Goole nowdays is the most popular searching tool in every daylife.It has a mature system，and cooparted with many companies like youtube. Last month I was planning a trip to spend my holiday，I just type-in flights to LA and later all advertisement on my page has become some tourism company like “sun-wing”. And actually quite fit what I need，so at the last I pick a vacation plan on sun-wing. When I come back toronto，the wether is getting really cold，and I chat with my friend says I really need a hat to defense the cold. I haven’t serch anything about hat on google，but only in my chat app,but google has known what i need，all the advertisement has become winter hats，It’s so scary，Is google spying us？Is that means all the information in our phone and PC is like a open book giving to these companies？This is really horrible.
DAY 4
PRODUCTIVITY!
Notability is an app that use everyoften.It can greatly improve my efficiency in work.Its function is simple, but practical: import any of your notes into your ipad.With an apple pencil, I can easily annotate anywhere in my notes.I think this is a technological innovation, such software may take us away from paper books.First of all, the books in the university are very heavy and expensive，They can be a heavy burden to carry every day.Because of its price, we will sell it at the end of the semester, so we can’t make notes in the book, which will lead to the secondary loss of its price.However, having a notability seems to be a once-and-for-all approach.Its only current drawback is that it has to be used on a tablet and requires an electronic pen.Even though the app only costs $6, the overall cost is still high. This kind of reading is becoming popular among people, and I think paper books will be replaced by it one day.
DAY 5
As one of the most famous drawing apps on the iPad, the relatively low buyout price, the free version iteration update, and the gradually enhanced strength as a professional tool have attracted more and more users to try to use Procreate for illustration and design on the iPad. As a new media student, design is part of my life. This app can improved a lot of my productivity.
Why i find this app is so useful?
Because of the layers, the possibilities are infinite.Procreate provides the ability to create layers, so you can divide a whole image into different components, different parts for rendering.At the same time, because of the layer, you can set the transparency for the whole layer, so that you can set the color of the four dimensions. If you are familar with Photoshop, this software will be perfect for you.
DAY 6
The interesting thing is that well-designed hard work can be a great design. One of Apple’s most popular features on its mobile operating system, iOS, is flexible scrolling, which can be difficult in some situations, such as at the bottom of a page.Elastic scrolling on iOS is a deliberate attempt to make things harder in some cases, as you can see when the user scrolls to the last page. The added difficulty here is to indicate that scrolling down is no longer available, and the effect is to produce an intuitive experience.
DAY 7
Today I observe the 3D glasses. I went to cineplex for new movie “Jumanji” 3D version，so everyone have to wear a 3D glasses.But I am nearsighted, so I need to wear two glasses at the same time，This has greatly affected my movie-watching experience. In my opinion, the design of 3D glasses is deficient. Should we provide a new design category for the nearsighted people?Myopic people are not a minority group, I think they should be taken into account.
DAY 8
Thers’s a bubble tea shop nearby my home.I often go over and buy a cup of milk tea. When I went to the store today, I found that they provided a new payment method, wechat pay and ali pay.These two payment methods are very familiar to me. They are very popular in China. When I saw it in Toronto, I was still surprised. I chose ali pay as the payment method. It changed RMB into Canadian dollar in the form of exchange rate and paid to the store owner.Its exchange rate is even better than the bank, I don’t need to bring a card, I just need to provide the qr code on my phone to complete the payment, which makes me feel very relaxed.
DAY 9
Today I found a very strange thing, when I was in the street, there was a man who was blind and walked by me quickly. I was curious how he could walk so fast without sight.I looked at the ground and found that the tactile paving in Toronto was very well designed.Perhaps with his familiarity of the road, he could get across the street so quickly.This reminds me of the design of tactile paving in China，Designers do not consider for the blind, just for the sake of beauty and completely lost its original meaning, this is sad.
DAY 10
Many restaurants in Toronto have handles like this，and with push sign.But the hand signals to people to pull,This can lead to misunderstanding.
DAY 11
Today I observe toronto condo’s rubbish system.The design is so convenient that those who live in condos can throw away their trash within a few steps，but the designers didn’t seem to give enough thought to the people who lived on the higher floors.I live on the 41st floor, and every time I take out the garbage, the wind in the garbage pipe blows in my face.The wind even blew all the garbage left in the pipe onto me.This makes the garbage room even dirtier.
DAY 12
The next I found something interesting about the public rubbish bin.Most of Toronto’s trash cans are smelly,so people will choose to hold their nose and throw away the garbage quickly.This caused their garbage to get stuck in the hole,It’s no use trying to hide the smell, it’s making it worse.So people are more afraid to touch them and less likely through the trash properly.
DAY 13
BMW’s SOS emergency rescue design.This function is activated automatically when the vehicle has a severe collision. It can take the initiative to make a rescue call to the call center customer service and send vehicle data (vehicle location, type, license plate and color information, collision location, specific trigger of the safety bag, whether the vehicle is tipping).
DAY 14
I see a lot of people talks about the bad design about 2 big charger can not plug in one.And this plug, but the simplest way to solve this problem-make the plug crooked!
DAY 15
String hotpot is my favourate.In the old days, there would be a trash can at each table where customers would throw sticks into it.But it’s easy to get oil splashes everywhere，today the resturant I went，designing a hole in the table to hold a stick is a clever design.
DAY 16
Japanese ramen restaurant downstairs.When I finish eating, a thank you banner will appear，this makes me feel really warm and surprised.
DAY 17
I-clicker！UT students are very familiar with this.Its role can be used to sign in, answer questions, vote (optional anonymous), exams, quizzes.A small remote control, bound to each student, is very convenient for professors and students.
DAY 18
Today I observe…banana. Maybe the greate nature designed it. I found out banana is such a great design，Disposable, peeling without tools，no seeds，and the shapes is a handle！What a thoughtful design!
DAY 18
Many web designs are attractive，Not all clever designs are good designs, especially when they cause problems with inaccessibility, invisibility, or unavailability.We can’t get the information of the webpage clearly.
DAY 19
The front page of CultivatedWit shows an illustration of an owl. When the mouse is over the owl illustration, the owl blinks.This is a great way to increase interaction with customers.
DAY 20
Animation is an important element in interaction design, but the design of animation must obey the purpose. You can never do animation for animation. Unfortunately, designers love to use animations, partly because animations are fun, but we don’t know when it will end.I found that some websites are too dynamic, wasting too much time for customers and making the customer experience poor.
DAY 21
Today I found out the signs in downtown Toronto are reallly puzzling.There is a lot of information to convey in a small area.I can’t find the information I need or misunderstand me so I get a ticket.
